yeah, it's a good point. i'm not sure i had exactly the same impression of the demographics as you, but i noticed a predominance of men, white and asian. (i actually noticed more women than i expected to see, which was, a few, but not very many. i expected to see even fewer than that though. and i noticed a reasonable number of younger faces.)

however, i interpret the demographic as representing not so much o'reilly conferences in particular but rather the demographic who winds up with tech jobs at employers who'll pay hundreds of dollars to send them to a conference.
