Yes - or maybe just stop and start over again with something different, as I have done before, as I am glad I did. What bothers me most is the feeling I have sometimes that I am running out of choices. Having succeeded in building up my own little one-person business (although I wish I could get organized enough to hire clerical help!), now it appears that I just have to go on with it, because I couldn't do anything else. With no qualifications, no linear biography, not even a university degree despite all the years I spent at universities, I couldn't even apply for a "normal" job if I wanted to.
And then there is this amazing accumulation of things - and persons that I am responsible for, that are part of my life. When I first came to live in Austria permanently, I arrived with a large suitcase and a guitar - as much of a cliche as that is, it certainly facilitates a certain mobility. I could leave the guitar behind now, but the rest wouldn't fit into one suitcase.

But as I am working tonight on an article about the Universal Embassy in Brussels, I find myself painfully conscious of what a luxury it is to even be able to consider the question.
