i don't speak or write german but i always wished people were more free on lists to write in any language they feel comfortable. babelfish is of course terrible, especially, with german<=>english translation, but it actually has its usefulness. by clicking on the "multi-lingual" babelfilter link i'm at least able to get some general ideas of what's being said. in any case, i'd encourage people to post in whatever language they feel comfortable in - when there are more users there will hopefully be plenty of speakers of each language to carry on discussions.
