i created a few works that i though were net.art, but now i find out that they were only net art, no dot. i'm so confused... do i have to be European to get the dot in there?

i guess i'm not surprised that there was an actual movement called net-dot-art, but i have to admit ignorance in that i always just thought it was a term loosly thrown around to describe art that takes place on the net, dot or no dot...

so in what ways does net.art differ from net art, besides being a subset of it? what unique qualities of that movement give it the privilege of the dot?
