[new] more vague impressions (Avg. Score: none / Raters: 0) (#2)

Ok, I obviously didn't do a very good job of disguising how little of the actual content of the lecture I can relate, did I?

So i'd ask, do you have the feeling that he's actually producing cutting-edge ideas
No, not at all. Everything I heard sounded familiar, there was nothing new or startling. Of course, I can't swear I didn't miss some vital new point, but my impression was more that of ticking off ideas associated with Antonio Negri to make sure none were missing. The only term I missed was the German translation "Vielheit" for "multitude", but I have the impression that no one feels comfortable using that anyway.

I've heard people saying he's getting old
I hesitated to write that before, but yes, my impression was that he is old enough and venerable enough and has already contributed enough to be absolved from the duty of producing new ideas, so to speak.
Actually, that is probably the reason why I think it is not inappropriate to feature him simply as a celebrity. It seems to me he has earned that, if such a thing is possible. On the other hand, of course, it doesn't seem right to expect that people just stop thinking once they have reached a certain age.

i guess he's always been quite poetic, mixing italian flourish in his post-autonomist language..
He also has a beautiful face and I enjoyed watching him and listening even to what I didn't understand. Of course, there may be a certain danger in that, if a kind of charisma turns into a shield against criticism. That may, in fact, be what was really happening.
But maybe that criticism needs to be carried out somewhere else among other people anyway. Maybe that is just not Negri's responsibility any longer.
