I guess this will be the first real post to Discordia. Howdy everybody. So I think we're going to start off like school by introducing ourselves and some things we're interested in. But first, what's with all this weblog hype? We've been working on Discordia for awhile, during which, weblogs have become quite popular - and sort of hypy. Well, we still like them anyway, and maybe they can actually help to reduce online hypiness by making more people comfortable with posting online. So if you're just joining us, you might want to take a look at our faq. Now, enough about Discordia, lets hear about me :-)...

Well, you can find the full boring bio elsewhere I guess, but background in film and music... later years net art, software art, internet/live performance, etc., blah blah. Ok, among my recent group involvements: runme.org ... I'm also the ghostwriter/programmer behind plagiarist.org And various other stuff... but, on too more interesting things... I think it will be interesting to see if Discordia can really make online posting more accessible to those of us who've gotten a little overwhelmed by list culture - or if it will create its own overwhelming culture (or both.) :-) ... Well it's an experiment so lets see how the network crumbles! er, uh...

So what are your thoughts on this? (Comment below!) :-)

List stars, or weblog stars for that matter, are nothing but dreams. The reality of (critical) Internet culture is a tragic one. These cultures are self-referential at best and isolated, dogmatic ghettos if you have a more cynical perspective on life. The presumed celebrity system, which is now democratized, is nothing but a prosthesis and a symptom of the collective need for new age positivism.
