How does the cycle of work, success, depression, and back to work, continue to manifest itself in the US today? I recently finished a 16mm film, Perseverance & How to Develop It, which seeks to link issues of the growth of industry in the early 20th century, and how this relied on self-help books to instill a drive for success in young workers.

Does anyone dream of becoming a cultural worker when they grow up? I have met future computer game programmers, future web designers, future special effects experts, even a future DVD menu designer, but I have yet to meet a kid who wants to be a cultural worker someday. Maybe they just don't know about that possibility yet? Or maybe I just know smart kids.

I guess this will be the first real post to Discordia. Howdy everybody. So I think we're going to start off like school by introducing ourselves and some things we're interested in. But first, what's with all this weblog hype? We've been working on Discordia for awhile, during which, weblogs have become quite popular - and sort of hypy. Well, we still like them anyway, and maybe they can actually help to reduce online hypiness by making more people comfortable with posting online. So if you're just joining us, you might want to take a look at our faq.
